History and Territory
Our company was born in Ceraso, in Cilento in the province of Salerno.
Here the Iannicelli family has been carrying on the tradition of cultivating olive trees for the production of high quality olive oil for over 200 years.
The labels of the "Progresso" and "Avanzamento" olive oils revive the ancient brands of the Iannicelli family, which already in 1800 boasted the prestige of managing an export business that allowed it to cross the oceans to reach South America.
Cultivation, fertilization and plant protection methods that are still completely natural today, olive harvesting during the peak period of quality yield and rapid delivery of the fruit to the mill within 24 hours are the key elements that have allowed us to obtain the high production standards handed down from generation to generation.
The pride and confidence in the high level of quality we have achieved soon led us to the intention of subjecting it to a rigid certification process that would guarantee its authenticity and naturalness in every phase of production, from the cultivation of the plant to bottling.
We have thus obtained the recognition awarded by โSidel CAB SpAโ Organic Agriculture Certification, code 5767, an authoritative certification and inspection body, authorised by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies and by the Ministry of Economic Development.
We have been rewarded for pursuing a production method based on total respect for agricultural ecosystems, refusing to make compromises such as the use of genetically modified organisms or synthetic products and using the only source allowed by the ancient modus operandi: the natural fertility of the Cilento soil.
All this happens in the Cilento Park, which fascinates visitors by offering landscapes that contain centuries of history and anecdotes of our past.
It is enough to remember that this very land has been a crossroads for wayfarers and travellers, acting as a hinge between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian Seas and thus merging peoples and cultures.
The Cilento Coast also boasts 2 marine protected areas and 10 blue flags, an international recognition given to coastal locations that have clean seas and beaches that meet high quality standards.
We would like to invite you to visit this corner of paradise located in the southern part of the Campania region, in the province of Salerno, an area declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
